NNMC student Dawniel Hayward scores 2nd in Pitch Competition Northern New Mexico College is proud to announce that film student Dawniel Hayward has won 2nd place in the Screenwriters Conference 2026 Pitch Competition on June 7, 2026. Hayward’s winning pitch earned a $350 cash prize and attracted the attention of a major film producer.
Pueblo Alliance LLC Honored as SBA Rural Small Business of the Year Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) is pleased to announce that Ron Lovato, President of Pueblo Alliance LLC and CEO of TSAY Corp., has been honored as New Mexico’s Rural Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) during National Small Business Week. Lovato sits on Northern’s Board of Regents and is a business client of the Small Business Development Center at NNMC.
NNMC Team North places 1st in regional Global Scaling Challenge Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) earned 1st place in the New Mexico Regional Global Scaling Challenge, sponsored by the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management on March 6, 2026. Maxine Chacon and Mariah Vasquez are recipients of the Longenecker & Associates Scholarship Two Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) students have received generous $5,000 scholarships from Longenecker & Associates: A Geosyntec Company (L&A). Maxine Chacon and Mariah Vasquez are recipients of the 2026 scholarships, which are awarded to students pursuing a career in a field that supports L&A's missions at Los Alamos and Sandia National laboratories, such as project management, business and support functions. Both recipients are pursuing Business Administration degrees.
